I-Ready Engineer Trainee
The i-Ready Engineer Trainee – Document Controller will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining technical documents and records to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with departmental standards. The Document Controller will support the engineering team by implementing document control procedures, tracking revisions, and ensuring all project information remains accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities:
- Create, update and edit the document to include new and/or modified information to support engineering
projects. - Coordinate with engineers and other departments to collect and compile technical information.
- Track, record and maintain document revisions and maintain document history logs.
- Ensure documents are properly named and stored according to defined standards and templates.
- Distribute documents to appropriate team members and stakeholders.
- Archive obsolete documents.
Requirements:
- Minimum Higher National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any technical related field
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; prior experience in document control or administration is an advantage
but not required. - Strong proficiency in technical English, written and spoken
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Adaptable and highly motivated
- Ability to learn quickly, follow procedures, and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Good communications skills
- Good proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
- Good proficiency in MS Office software or similar
- Must be of Bruneian or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam

i-Ready Legal & Compliance Trainee
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal and Compliance i-Ready apprentice to assist with legal research, contract and purchase order analysis, basic compliance tasks and administrative support to the Legal and Compliance Department. Reporting directly to the Legal and Compliance Senior Officer, the successful candidate will contribute in ensuring sound legal decision making, learn to draft preliminary legal opinions as well as provide support in key stakeholder meetings such as the MMS Board of Directors Meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Legal Research on various law topics.
- Conduct basic analysis of contractual obligations.
- Prepare preliminary responses of letters, legal opinions and internal reports under supervision.
- Assist in preparing compliance checklists and maintaining compliance records.
- Provide administrative support to the legal and compliance department.
- Support in logistics and preparation of materials for Board of Directors meetings.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by legal and compliance manager or senior legal and compliance officer, ensuring that they are delivered on time with accuracy.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of degree in law (Bar qualification) and Master degree in law are an advantage.
- Able to analyse, evaluate and solve problem efficiently.
- Ability to think outside the box, strong sense of responsibility and ethical behaviour, willingness to go above and beyond if needed, excellent organising and multitasking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Melayu and English.
- Proficiency in MS office tools.
- Registered i-Ready Apprenticeship Programme with PPB (Pusat Pekerjaan Brunei).
- Must be of Bruneian or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam

Assistant Engineer (Transportation)
The Assistant Engineer (Transportation) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery, including mobile cranes, towmaster units, trailers, cherry pickers, and forklifts, in accordance with authorized certifications. The role involves executing assigned tasks based on direct instructions from Engineers, Supervisors, and the Head of Workshop, while strictly adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate heavy machineries under MMS which includes mobile crane, towmaster, trailer, cherry
picker and forklift across all RBN vessels within the Naval Base. - Provide transportation services within Naval Base as directed by Ship Managers or supervisors
- Regular inspections on heavy machineries when not in use to ensure they are safe to use and to inform supervisor or Head of Workshop should necessary repairs are required.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checklists on all heavy machineries under MMS.
- Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to
assure personnel and heavy machineries’ safety. - Perform, but not limited to, rigging and banksman as secondary duties within Shipyard Services when
required within certification
Requirements:
- Minimum of National Diploma or equivalent
- Possess valid Driving License Class 5
- Possess valid Mobile Crane Operator Certificate
- Possess valid Forklift Operator License
- Must be of Brunei citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam
