Senior Engineer Painting & Blasting
The Senior Engineer plays a critical leadership role in planning, executing, and overseeing sandblasting and coating activities to ensure alignment with project schedules and quality standards. This role is responsible for meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality outputs through routine inspections and operational oversight. Key responsibilities include leading, developing, and motivating a team of 15 employees, while effectively delegating key tasks such as inspection processes, equipment and consumable availability, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also requires maintaining proactive and clear communication with internal departments, project managers, workshops, and upper management to ensure coordination and workflow efficiency. In addition to operational management, the Senior Engineer is expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives by refining SOPs, applying root cause analysis and incorporating lessons learned to achieve sustainable long-term performance improvements. To succeed in this role, the candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, assertiveness, and exceptional communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Workshop Division Manager and provides regular updates on workshop performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
- Proactively coordinates with other divisions, workshops, and project managers to ensure seamless execution of projects and alignment of priorities.
- Leads and organizes the daily operations of the Painting and Blasting Workshop, ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated and activities are well-planned and executed.
- Responsible for workforce planning, including scheduling, task allocation, staff motivation, and performance development of a 15-member team.
- Ensures that all relevant SOPs are in place, strictly followed, regularly reviewed, and continuously improved to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Oversees the availability and operational readiness of all workshop equipment and consumables to prevent downtime and support uninterrupted workflow.
- Conducts regular inspections to ensure all blasting and coating activities meet required quality standards and are completed within the assigned deadlines.
- Ensures full compliance with MMS-HSE requirements through active monitoring, inspection, and promotion of a safety-first culture within the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum Requirements of HND in Engineering or any related field.
- Certification as a Coating Inspector Level 3 according to BGAS, NACE, FROSIO, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, Marine Industry, or a comparable field.
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience overseeing up to 20 employees.
- Must be citizenship or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam.

Assistant Engineer Shipyard Services
As part of the primary responsibilities, carry out rigging, scaffolding, and preventive maintenance activities on all RBN vessels, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. Apply proper techniques and utilize appropriate tools and equipment to optimize efficiency and maintain structural integrity.
Additionally, provide support during trials, investigations, and inspections as required to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety and maintenance protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Support Engineers in lifting heavy machinery and equipment across all RBN vessels by using certified and
appropriate lifting tools and equipment. - Assist in the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding during maintenance activities on RBN
vessels or within the naval base, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. - Assisting Engineers in executing Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks in accordance with the
ERP schedule defined by the Planning Department, ensuring timely completion. - Report any issues that may impact the section’s efficiency to Engineers or higher authorities and
contribute suggestions for resolving such problems. - Take responsibility for identifying, monitoring, and mitigating hazardous or unsafe conditions to maintain
a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum requirement in Industrial skills qualifications (ISQ) or Ntec /TVET in Rigger or Scaffolder.
- Minimum experience of 1 to 3 years' experience in related work field.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with minimal supervision, excel under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High-level technical expertise and a proactive approach.
- Effective communication skills with strong analytical and problems-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours when necessary.
- Adaptability to various working conditions, including confined spaces, high-temperature environments, and elevated areas.
- Commitment to upholding Occupational Health and Safety standard.
- Must be Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam.
