i-Ready Electrical Trainee
Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (“MMS”) is a joint venture company responsible for providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) to Royal Brunei Navy (“RBN”) vessels and dockyard infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:
i-Ready Electrical Trainee
Perform routine tasks of the electrical trade with the supervision and report to engineer or senior staff engineer, bring immediate attention any shortcoming which affect the efficiency of the section and completion of task on preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality, efficiency and cost effective when the carry out their tasks.
- Carry out basic diagnosis, repair and test.
- Carry out work in accordance with authorized procedure.
- Oblige on the rules and regulation of electrical practices.
- Able to test all electrical component and control in control panel and its function.
- Able to identify common defect on chill water plant, air conditioning systems and sub systems e.g. compressor defect, contactor burn, low pressure trip, timer relay.
- Ability to refurbish light fittings e.g. repair of light fittings.
- Ability to differentiate between ac lighting and dc lighting systems, e.g. type of bulbs, cable size, types of socket outlets.
- Ability of trouble shooting of light systems, e.g. navigation light control panels, sockets outlet.
- Ability to function test, e.g. sockets outlets, emergency lighting systems, searchlight.
- Ability to check ventilation parameter.
- Ability to understand the relationship between electrical and mechanical systems e.g. low oil pressure switch (air compressor).
- Identifying possible any defect or damage of electrical equipment.
- Bring immediate attention any shortcoming which affect the efficiency of the section.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of TVET Diploma level 2 in electrical or any related field.
- Registered iReady Apprenticeship Programme with PPB (Pusat Pekerjaan Brunei)
- Good knowledge in Microsoft Office software (especially Microsoft Excel).
- Must be citizen or permanent resident of Brunei Darussalam.

We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:
I-Ready Electronic Trainee
The Electronic Workshop is responsible for maintaining electronics equipment in RBN contracted to MMS Sdn. Bhd. and supporting new projects initiated by the Engineering Department. Ensure all electronic equipment within RBN vessels and Communication Centre in RBN headquarters are in operational condition.
Responsibilities:
- Hands on in Fault Finding and Diagnostics on electronic equipment.
- Assembling and dissembling of equipment.
- Configure network and system application.
- Making sure all system application needs to be backup and restore.
- Competent in using the right electronic test equipment diagnostic process.
- Conduct corrective and preventive maintenance of external and internal communication section.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of TVET Diploma level 2 in electronic & electrical or communication or any related field.

We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:
i-Ready Mechanical Trainee
Mechanical workshop is responsible for the maintenance, repair and refit of all Royal Brunei Navy ships as scheduled for planned maintenance system, unscheduled defect repair and operational defects.
Responsibilities:
- Building and assembling machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
- Inspecting machines, engines, transmissions etc. and running diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
- Conducting repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance, fault finding, overhauling engine and propulsion equipment.
- Test and rectify all equipment for defect during the base maintenance period, defect essential docking, afloat maintenance and ship project.
- Record all the test data during the maintenance period.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of TVET Diploma level 2 in mechanical or any related field.

We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:
i-Ready Procurement Trainee
The role is responsible to perform procurement of materials, equipment, and services at best value in accordance with MMS procurement policy and guidelines. The incumbent is responsible to manage purchase requisition and tender processes (i.e. invitation preparation, evaluation & award, etc). The incumbent is also responsible to liaise with vendors and users, source materials, inventory management, and expedite and monitor vendor’s performance. The incumbent is expected to have extensive usage of ERP and Microsoft Excel daily.
Responsibilities:
- Procure materials and services in accordance with MMS procurement policy and guidelines ensuring materials and services are purchased in a cost-effective manner.
- Manage purchase requisitions (material and/or services), tender invitation preparation, tender evaluation & award:
- Review and analyse purchase requisitions; investigate and develop sources of supplies; determine method of procurement/contracting.
- Prepare and issue request for quotations/ tenders/ proposals; obtain, review, analyse and negotiate proposals/ quotations/ lead time/ terms; prepare tender evaluation summary and reports, purchase orders and variations.
- Ensure quality equipment, supplies and services are provided to MMS at the competitive market price.
- Liaise promptly with Vendors for availability of resources (manpower/equipment) as per Users’ requirements raised via purchase requisitions and ensure timely availability of resources.
- Source materials, services, and vendors:
- Keep abreast with current price levels, trends, business activities and availability of products and services.
- Initiate, establish and maintain purchasing/ supply agreements and call-off contracts for frequently required materials/services.
- Maintain a commercially sound vendor base for various materials and services.
- Interface with vendors and users.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels by reviewing min/ max against usage to ensure operational availability versus cost efficiency.
- Analyse stock movements and propose lean inventory.
- Expedite & monitor vendors’ performance:
- Expedite orders and ensure materials arrive at MMS facilities on time.
- Review and follow up open requisitions and orders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management or Finance or Logistic or in any related field.

Senior Engineer QA/QC

We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:
Senior Engineer QA/QC
The role of the QA/QC Engineer is divided into a Quality-Assurance-part and a Quality-Control-part with an area of responsibility up to 12 different workshops with approx. 150 employees. The Quality Assurance part consists mainly of the definition of quality targets and standards, the development, implementation and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures to ensure the compliance with the quality targets. The Quality Control element deals with the definition and continuous optimization of control points and the associated inspections. Another element is the evaluation of deviations and the resulting implementation of improvements to standard operating procedures and control points in such a way that comparable deviations are prevented. Ensuring supplier quality for coating and welding services completes your responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Defining, ensuring and enforcing internal quality standards.
- Development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOP) in coordination with respective head of workshops.
- Quality assessment, reporting and identification of potential for improvement.
- Conceptualizing and continuously developing quality assurance test procedures.
- Initiating and executing root cause analyses (RCA) for systematic or significant deviations in cooperation with head of workshops.
- Conducting internal and external audits as technical auditor.
- Quality assurance of supplier (Painting, blasting, welding).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Quality Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
- 10 years’ experience in oil & gas or maritime industry.
- 5 years leadership experience.
- 5 years’ experience as QA/QC role.
- Certification:
- Senior welding inspector.
- Certified coating advisor level 2.(FROSIO or BGAS).
- Familiar with NDT for VT, RT, UT and MT.
- HSE Training on hot work or fire warden.
- Piping inspector.
- Lead auditor ISO 9001.
- Internal auditor ISO 9001 – certification.
