Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (“MMS”) is a joint venture company responsible for providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) to Royal Brunei Navy (“RBN”) vessels and dockyard infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified Bruneian professionals to fill the following positions:
Assistant Engineer (GRP) – HRD2023AEG
The position is responsible to assist in the fabrication of composite structures using fiberglass materials and performing basic repairs on rubber dinghy boat tubes. The incumbent will support the maintenance and repair of boats, crafts, and woodworking machinery. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with standard work practices, safety regulations, and equipment cleanliness. The incumbent should possess the necessary skills and proficiency to independently handle assigned GRP-related tasks, diligently follow instructions from the Supervisor/Head of Department and take accountability for duties. The incumbent should be prepared to carry out any additional tasks when required and have flexibility to work outside regular working hours.
Responsibilities:
Ability to work with fiberglass materials to fabricate composite structures and possess basic knowledge of rubber dinghy boat tube repair.
Handling maintenance and repair of boats/crafts, rubber dinghy boats, and woodworking machinery such as band saw, circular saw, and planner, etc.
Ensure proper equipment maintenance in compliance with standard work, codes, and safety regulations.
Adhere to safety guidelines, maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment, and ensure they are in proper working condition.
Capable of independently handling tasks related to GRP work, including repair, maintenance, and other assigned duties.
Follow instructions diligently from the Supervisor/Head of Department.
Demonstrate accountability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Requirements:
NTec in Building Craft/HNTec in Construction Engineering or in any related field.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) practices.
Proficient in speaking and writing Malay and English.
Ability to adapt and work outside regular working hours.
